OWN's 'Sweetie Pies' Is Back on March 31

buzzz worthy. . .

"Welcome to Sweetie Pie's," the family docu-series on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will premiere ten all-new episodes beginning Saturday, March 31 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's" follows former Ikette Miss Robbie Montgomery and her dynamic family at their well-known soul food restaurant, Sweetie Pie's. Miss Robbie is a handful, but in a good way. She is the straight talking, no nonsense founder of the St. Louis based landmark that is at the heart of OWN's popular series.

The hour-long series premiered last October, generating positive response among viewers with its series debut.
"We are truly honored to be back with all-new episodes," said Robbie Montgomery. "Last season was a roller-coaster ride, but we survived it together. This season, viewers can expect more of our family drama, ups and downs, and definitely a lot more loving soul food."
In the spring premiere of "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's," Miss Robbie and her family prepare to welcome home baby T.J. after a five-month stay in the hospital. Jenae's early labor and emergency c-section that brought T.J. into the world 13 weeks early has culminated in an emotional release day filled with tears of joy. To help ease the transition, Tim and Jenae move the whole family into Miss Robbie's home. Tim is initially reluctant about working with his mother all day and living under her roof all night, but he quickly changes his tune when he realizes Grandma Robbie could be a great live-in babysitter. Miss Robbie, however, has no plans to make the temporary living situation permanent.

"Me living with my son - that's a no, no," she quips. "I stopped having babies because I'm not raising them."
Meanwhile, the mother-son conflict is amplified as the pair butt heads over the plans for their new restaurant, Sweetie Pie's - The Upper Crust. As the two try to work together to oversee the construction of the third restaurant it becomes apparent who wants to spend freely and who wants to hold the purse strings. While Tim is clearly an effective manager and business partner, above all he is a devoted son.
"Sometimes people's dreams pass when they pass and it doesn't have to be that way," says Tim Norman. "I'm going to do everything possible to keep my Mom's dream alive."
