Pepsi brings MJ back on cans

buzzz worthy. . .

While his family was fueding over the estate this summer, the late Michael Jackson returned, that is on one billion Pepsi cans.

To coincide with the re-release of "Bad" Pepsi is banking on MJ's nostalgia. They released collectible cans of their beverage  featuring a silouhette of MJ dancing.  There were also commericals that aired in select markets around the world as a part of a global brand push. The cans were released in China coincide with the 25th anniversary of the multi-platinum Bad album that is arguably one of Jackson’s best. The cans  allowed consumers to scan a code for access to remixes of his hit song ‘Bad.’

Despite its best efforts in the past, Pepsi has not been able to dethrone the CocCola Company as the "King of Soda Pop." Will MJ's spirit will make a diference?

"We are thrilled to bring Michael and Pepsi back together, as they were in 1988, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ‘Bad’ album and tour and to put Michael on one billion Pepsi cans–perhaps a Guinness record," says John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson. "We're excited to see it all come to life."
