George Zimmerman found not guilty

buzzz worthy. . .

After 16 hours of deliberation, a jury of six women rendered a verdict of not guilty in the George Zimmerman Trial. Zimmerman, a Sanford, Fla. neighborhood watchman, was set free after state prosecutors were unable to satisfy the burden of proof that he murdered their client, Trayvon Martin.  Zimmerman maintained that he acted in self defense.

Early reaction to the decision shows the nation is divided.  While some applaud the decision  others are outraged that was Zimmerman was fully vindicated and walked away from the situation with no consequences.

The family of Trayvon Martin was instructed by their Civil Rights attorneys for safety and emotional reasons not to be present at the reading of the verdict.  They previously stated they would accept the verdict no matter what.

Robert Zimmerman, the brother of the George Zimmerman in an exclusive interview wit Poers Morgan.  He said his brother has received death threats and he will have to live in fear of his life.

Law enforcement has urged the nation to react peacefully, but there have been some violent protests in California. The windows of a police car was smashed early Sunday.

President Obama has this to say Sunday in a statement:

"I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher, but we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son."
