Myrick sings "Every Praise" with Hezekiah Walker after the song save his life.

Many Christians believe praise is a weapon. Songs have proclaimed it.  Preachers have taught it. Now the testimony of an Atlanta boy has confirmed it for the faithful.

In early April, then 9-year-old Willie Myrick was abducted from the yard at his home.  As told to Ryan Cameron  the Ryan Cameron Morning Show of Atlanta's V103-FM, Myrick went outdoors to retrieve  a tool from his dog cage when a man lured him into his car by dragging money across the ground.  The stranger grabbed the child and tossed him into the backseat of the car.  The alleged kidnapper, who is still at large, drove around the city for three hours aimlessly.

Co-host WandaSmith commended the child for being brave and asked what he said to the kidnapper to be set free.  Answered Myrick, "He was probably irritated over me singing." To pacify his fears Myrick began to sing his favorite song, Hezekiah Walker's  "Every Praise" repetitiously.  He was asked to "shut up", but kept singing.   Finally, the man could not stand to hear the song anymore and released the boy, asking that he does not tell anyone.

After hearing his song could have saved a child's life, Hezekiah Walker wanted to meet the child face-to-face. Walker surprsed Myrick at a tenth birthday celebration at church.

While it is fortunate the victim survived the ordeal and made  it back home unharmed, knowing the abductor has not be detained, many Metro Atlanta residents are concerned for the safety of their children.

Myrick described the car as a silver or gray Honda Accord or Civic and said there was no carpet in the vehicle. for a light skinned Black male in his twenties with shoulder length dreadlocks.A sketch of the assailant is also available. A local community activist group is offering ten thousand dollars for the capture and arrest of the kidnapper.
Walker believes the words shielded him from unknown dangers allowing him to celebrate another year of life.

Walker met Myrick during a surprise visit to  Mt. Carmel Baptist Churc on April 1.

Tears streamed down the boy's face as the singer wrlcomed him with a warm embrace at the community cleratin of his release, which aslo served as a celebration for his 10th birthday party.
