Youngest Tankard Daughter To Host Online Conversation With Girls 13-16 and 17-20; Launches Crowd Funding Campaign To Host "A Day Without Boys"

Nashville, May 15, 2014 - Girls are under attack on social media, a fact Cyrene Tankard of Bravo's breakout hit "Thicker Than Water" knows from firsthand experience. Her response: create a safe place for teen and young adult girls to gather online and hold open, honest discussions about life issues, "Love You More". Then seek to unite girls to spend one- day without boys!

"Love You More is a private membership club organized to empower all youth but aimed at girls," says Tankard.  "I want to create a safe haven for my peers, somewhere for them to come and talk and discuss how they feel. Somewhere where they can really get in and talk about the real stuff they go through on the daily and not feel judged or condemned and get some answers while being able to vent."

As a part of her launch, Cyrene seeks to host girl only days in select markets nationally.  "A Day Without Boys" is part workshop and part empowerment program that aims to inspire women to support one-another by spending a day with other women.

"A Day Without Boys is not just a day where we say 'eew cooties let's avoid the cooties,' it is so much deeper. This will be the day where girls and woman can experience a pure breakthrough with the activities and discussions they'll engage in; it allows us women to be completely honest with each other without fear of what the opposite sex thinks.  We can just peal back the layers and be real with each other and to learn to love ourselves more."

The irony of Cyrene's "A Day Without Boys" is that she wants males to assist by contributing to her crowd-funding campaign.

"My hope is that males will get involved and support us too by realizing that the campaign is actually helping to better the women around them and that is something worthy of an investment, says Cyrene." "If you love the woman in your life then send her on a girls day and help her learn to love herself more, which in the end will help her to Love You More."

To the viewing public Cyrene is the virginal, carefree, slightly spoiled, daughter of Ben and Jewel Tankard on Bravo's "Thicker Than Water".  In addition to being a stellar student, church youth leader and overall confident kid the depiction is true.  However, during season one, Cyrene prepared to accompany her parents to an award show.  As was their practice during the season of their show, and at the request of the network, the family took photos and sent them to Bravo's social media team for posting.  One photo of Cyrene caused a bit of controversy and resulted in a shockingly negative response on social media:

"Yea she been ready to f*#k and that purity ring dont mean s%$t...."
"Exactly is that purity ring still on in this pic...you know that's a lie"
"Cyrene want some Di@k"
"Please that kid been there and done that..."

"I was somewhere between hurt and offended," says Cyrene.  "I had heard people talk about social media attacks but I guess on some level assumed they deserved it.  For a minute I wondered if I deserved it; if maybe I brought this on myself by choosing the wrong photos."

After talking to her family and gaining their full support, Cyrene turned to her publicist Darren Dickerson to discuss a response and found a kindred spirit in Dickerson who immediately began helping Cyrene craft a campaign.

"I understood what Cyrene experienced and how similar things happen daily to youth online or in other social settings," said Dickerson.  "We decided to start a conversation with youth about real life issues they face to provide the type of honest feedback Cyrene received."

Together Cyrene and Dickerson created a private club, "Love You More", that is at its core an ongoing dialogue with youth about life.  Via online chats, blogs and social media posts, Cyrene meets with members and engages in a conversation designed to help members better cope with the pressures of being a teen in 2014 and beyond.

Love You More
"Love You More" is a private membership club organized to empower youth with three goals:

I.   To engage in honest dialogue with youth about their life experiences

II.  To inspire youth to love themselves first

III. To support, uplift, and educate other youth to make smart choices

"Love You More" seeks to instill vital problem solving skills that will sustain members throughout their teen and young adult years, better preparing them for adult life.

"Love You More" starts as a digital conversation about real life issues and the negative messages sent directly and indirectly to girls; we candidly and aggressively discuss:
  • how to avoid exhibiting negative behaviors to fit popular - more socially accepted - roles
  • how to deal with pressure from peers and parents
  • the angry, mean-spirited attacks suffered by girls on social media
  • boys, men, and our overly sexualized world
  • sex, drugs, and pop culture
4/4 UPDATE:  In the latest  episode of "Thicker Than Water" Cyrene clashes with the family during a break from Howard University, especially her mother, Jewel. Last season Cyrene was depicted as the most level-headed of the Tankard children. She returns home rebellious and disrespectful.  During her first year in college she was hospitalized 3 times, once for alcohol poisoning. Jewel and the family rally around her with support and she completely ignored them. Even though everyone is handling Cyrene with kid gloves she feels attacked and challenges everything Jewel says.  Later she tells Ben that she was upset because the whole family was present. It's clear that Cyrene feels smothered, wants her independence and to be treated as and adult, yet her response to the gentle love and support her family has bestowed upon her is surprisingly childish. Sadly the whole nation is watching as Tankard, a minister of the Gospel and Jewel both try to turn their daughter's heart back toward the Godly foundation from which she has strayed.

BORN INTO SIN, TRANSFORMED INTO DESTINY: An ex-drug-abuser-turned pastor undergoes a metamorphasis that inspires a nationwide healing ministry

buzzz worthy. . .

Written with gripping transparency by Dr. Gina R. Prince, “Born Into Sin, Transformed Into Destiny” is the gritty testimony of how the author was released from a lifestyle of serial sin and self-doubt.   Her confessions will cause the down trodden to believe there must be a God somewhere. In telling her story, Dr. Prince asserts there is no problem too large for God and firmly believes that if The Master could deliver her from the depths of despair, no matter how dark the day, deliverance is available to everyone.

(BRISTOW, VA) May 14, 2014 – It is common knowledge that psychologists believe parental detachment during early childhood can leave a lifetime of psychological trauma. In the debut novel , “Born Into Sin, Transformed Into Destiny,” Dr. Gina R. Prince shares how the death of her father at an early age and the inability to connect emotionally with her mother left  her younger  self with abandonment and identity issues that laid the foundation for  an aimless search  for love.  When Prince could not find a replacement for her deceased father in family, drug addiction, sex or men, she tries God. Her Heavenly Father was waiting with open arms.

In Chapter 5,  “Growth in the Spirit ,”  Prince says she gained  an understanding of the spirit realm and that was the beginning of her breakthrough. She uses her life story as an example of how others can recognize the spiritual implications in their behavior, find, and focus on the root of their problems. Especially pertaining to problems stemming from childhood, the book shows that without putting a mirror to your past, unresolved issues won’t heal. The key problem to emotional healing, Prince discovers, is not knowing who we really are.  The author’s analysis of “self-created competing personalities” sets the book apart from being a testimonial cliché.

Now a Doctor of Theology, Prince experienced a full circle transformation. One of the keys to her healing was studying scripture daily and keeping a devotional journal, which inspired her to write the book.  She found that the more she fed her spirit God’s Word, the less she hungered for the fleshly desires that previously defined her.    A former Streamingfaith.com contributor, Dr. Prince is dedicated to using her personal and professional know-how to help others heal from emotional hurt through ministry efforts nationwide.

Gearing up for a busy summer schedule, on Saturday, May 17, 2014, Dr. Prince will hold a book signing at the Gospel Spreading Bookstore in Washington, DC from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m.

Popular Background Vocalist David Daughtry Steps To Forefront With New Singles
God Is Great (Leap!)/You Kept Me

The newest artist added to Karew Records!

Available Now at iTunes

May 13, 2014--

A Karew Records release, God is Great-LEAP!" is a foot stomping, hand clapping, call and response song sure to become an anthem in churches internationally.  "The LEAP in the song is literal, says Daughtry.  "I was leading the gospel standard, 'God is Great' during praise and worship at West Angeles and I broke into the gospel classic, 'I Don't Know What You Come To Do.'  "As I went through the song, I did everything I sang," he explains.  "I clapped my hands and stomped my feet, and when I sang 'Leap for Joy,' I leapt and so did everyone in the church. It became so popular that everyone wants me to sing that song wherever I go."

"With his new partnership with Karew Records, Daughtry is excited about the opportunity to expand the reach of his music ministry to a worldwide audience.  "I have beenblessed to travel as far as the shores of Africa and the islands of Turks and Caicos, spreading the gospel, but I believe there is so much more for me to do, both in ministry and my professional music career," he says.
"My goal is to bridge the gap between the old and the new, transcending denomination, culture, and generations. And as the Word says, I declare, that my eyes have not seen, nor have my ears heard, neither can my mind conceive of the good things that God has prepared for me. The best is truly yet to come!"

When asked how he feels being the newest artist added to Karew Records, Daughtry exclaims, "You can't even imagine how I feel.  My greatest inspiration in gospel music has always been the Clark Sisters. I own every recording they've ever made and now I'm on a label with them."

VIDEO: Solange physically attacks Jay Z

buzzz worthy. . .

TMZ has obtained video that appears to show Beyonce's Sister, Solange attacking Jay Z in an elevator as they were leaving last week's Met Gala after party.  As a party of four enters an elevator, a woman, who appears to be Solange punches and kicks a man, who appears to be Jay Z.  The second man (likely a security guard) holds the aggressor back as the woman who appears to be Beyonce seems to be addressing Jay Z. Beyonce does not immediately intervene, suggesting she did not object the attack from her little sis. Beyonce only gets involved to the extent that she stands in between her husband  and only sibling when it appears Solange is ready to attack again. Just before they get off the elevator,  Solange pounces at Jay Z again.  He never responds physically, except to block the licks coming his way.  Beyonce is remarkably collected under the circumstances.

A source told US Weekly that Solange, 27, over-reacted to something the Holy Grail singer said.

If ever there were a time I wanted to be a fly on the wall (of an elevator), this is it.  What would cause Solange to act in such rage?
