Jonathan Butler opens up on forthcoming CD, 'Free' (Due to be released on October 30)

buzzz worthy. . .

Three years in the making, Grammy ® nominated recording artist Jonathan Butler is set to release his highly-anticipated new gospel CD, Free, on October 30, 2015 through Rendezvous Music and distributed by Provident Distribution and Sony Red Distribution. The smooth jazz artist first catapulted onto the Gospel music scene with the Grammy-nominated hit “Falling In Love With Jesus,” and Butler once again impresses with his emotional testimony on Free, reflecting his life the past few years.

“I’ve been through a fire and all kinds of challenges. It’s been a crazy three or four years,” Butler said. “So this album is a testimony of God’s goodness. With the timing of all these things happening to me and in the midst of all of that, writing a record was pretty heavy. I was going through quite a lot personally and I wanted to make that statement very clear on this album that I’m in a new season in my life.”

Butler’s new season spawned the album Free with 11 rousing tracks, including the single “Be Encouraged,” the title-track “Free,” the joyful and celebratory tune “You Are The One,” the tender ballad “Where Would I Be,” and the worship anthem “I Am That I Am” to name a few. The album was produced by Luther “Mano” Hanes who also co-wrote “Where Would I Be” and “Never Find A Better Love.” Butler’s performance heard on the album was recorded in one take.
“It was just Mano and I in the studio,” Butler shared. “He was in the control room and I was in the vocal booth. I was on my knees in the vocal booth and I remember sobbing like a child before God. It was like God just showed up. I sang it once and he said, ‘Hey man I don’t think we need to do another vocal take. This is it.'”

Butler has sold more than 1.8 million albums worldwide including Gospel albums Brand New Day and Grace and Mercy and continues touring the globe maintaining a comprehensive concert schedule. In addition, he currently leads worship at the Dream Center in Los Angeles and at El Paso’s Destiny Family Christian Center.

“It’s a new chapter now,” said Butler. “God has taken me to a whole other level, a whole other place in my life. All the songs on the album have really moved me because I’ve been living all of what this album is saying.”

buzzz worthy. . .

It is no secret that before Mathew Knowles was a Grammy Award-winning executive producer, he was Xerox's top sales executive, worldwide. Also not hidden from the mainstream are rumors about his keen marksmanship when it comes to helping artists hit targets of success. He has strategized superstar careers-not just for himself, but also for what appears to be his entire bloodline and other top acts. After more than 23 years of music moguling, what is newly worthy of the media's attention is his explosive new publication, "The DNA of Achievers: 10 Traits of Highly Successful Professionals" (Music World Publishing, 2015). The book is an Amazon #1 best-seller even before its official release. Why such an early fervor? Many come compelled by the book's description: the 10 traits of successful people (Passion, Work Ethics, Vision, Risk-Takers, Team Building, Talk-To-Do Ratio, Planning, Learning from Failure, Giving Back, and Thinking Outside the Box), and curious about the experiences of Mathew Knowles and others.

If any questions do arise over why to pick Knowles' book from the plentiful shelves of the 11 billion dollar self-help industry, the information shared by the achievers highlighted should answer them. Starting with Knowles' own acceleration from his days with Xerox, leading over 250 marketing and sales seminars,to his impact felt around the globe through award-winning, legendary music icons, and top catalog compilations. Under his leadership, his company Music World Entertainment grew into one of the world's leading conglomerates, with record sales exceeding 300 million. There is also the human-interest appeal to grab readers: Knowles shares a journey that starts in Gadsden, Alabama with parents who were entrepreneurs from the 1960's, who instilled the enterprising work ethic he has made legendary. He also walks you through intelligent discussions on the impact of poverty and racism, on into what tools he has used to overcome. His authority on the subject of success becomes clear after a while, and the final question becomes how much of what is highlighted in the book will rub off on the reader. What they will find is information designed for anyone looking to reach previously untouched heights.
Music comers are certainly going to wonder if Knowles will dispense any particular gems from his double-decade plus knowledge bank, and they will not be disappointed. The title of the book might appear to hint that success is indeed a trait woven into the genetic make-up of some high achievers, giving them a predisposed edge. For anyone trying to find a way to get their own shot at excellence, Knowles' book helps to breakdown the traits, and points out how to integrate them into your life. He dispels the myth that you have to own your own business to be termed an entrepreneur, rather he explains, "An entrepreneur is really a headset-it's a belief. So even as an employee I felt I was an entrepreneur in my approach, more so than a salesperson." Although such a visionary appears fueled by pure determination, Knowles is quick to point out that the electrifying element that ignites him is something more, stating, "The beginning of this DNA, the root of being an achiever is based on passion."
"The DNA of Achievers: 10 Traits of Highly Successful Professionals"is itself a passionately rendered, blueprint for hitting the high notes of success in any industry. The worldwide release happens October 15, 2015, (*with additional phase II pre sales opportunities coming in the interim). Meanwhile anxious readers can take away this inspirational nugget from Knowles about the primordial ingredient to it all:"The beginning of being an achiever is solely based on one's passion, because it starts right there. You can have all the other traits-in fact, they don't work without it. My philosophy is..."If you live in passion, you never work another day in your life." To self-help readers curious about if what he will deliver is another trick, mastered by the clever; or if the methods of unraveling the DNA of the entrepreneurial mind offer the ultimate keys to self-empowerment, Knowles says the answer is quite simple-"Read the book!"
*Knowles is offering a special treat where, on a limited basis, you can get a free autographed, first-edition paperback book by going to www.dnaofachievers.com or go to Amazon for your pre-sale Kindle e-book.
Mathew Knowles is the founder, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment (MWE), Its worldwide platforms include successful record label ventures; management services for recording artists and producers; artist development services; endorsement and partnership deals, performance and event facilities; a master catalog series; film and television ventures; licensed merchandise products; philanthropic work; and investment and property holdings. Knowles holds several recording imprints under Music World Music, including Music World Gospel, Music World Kids, and Music World Country/Compadre. A graduate of Fisk University, with a BA in Economics and a BS degree in Business Administration and MBA from Cornerstone Christian Bible College , holds a professorship at Texas Southern University, and is a popular keynote speaker/lecturer throughout the country and abroad.

with special guests RAPTURE RUCKUS and CHRISTA WELLS
Title Track “Exhale” Finds Incredible Radio Success, Moving into the Billboard Christian Hot AC Top 10, and hitting the #1 Spot on the Christian Music Weekly CHR Charts
Nashville, TN – Since the May release of EXHALE, Curb recording artist PLUMB has spent
the summer focused on her family, performing at festivals and remodeling her “Hope House.” Now, Plumb is eager to showcase her new music and share her message of hope and restoration by headlining THE EXHALE TOUR, with special guests Rapture Ruckus and Christa Wells.
The tour is tailored around the themes of the EXHALE album: reflecting a grateful heart, giving credit to God for the restoration of her marriage and sharing the hope that He alone can give.
Her previous single/album/book NEED YOU NOW became a runaway success, with the title track holding the #1 spot on the Billboard Christian Hot AC chart for 6 consecutive weeks and achieving over 300,000 certified spins at radio and is nearing 3 million Spotify plays.
NEED YOU NOW was heavily focused around the near loss and redemption of her marriage.  Over the past two years, Plumb’s life theme has been “hope is oxygen”, explaining that hope keeps us alive when our lives are in turmoil. Now, EXHALE launches a new call to action: to exhale a message of hope to others who are hurting.
The debut single, “Lord I’m Ready Now,” found great success at radio, achieving a Top 5 rank on the Billboard Hot AC chart and garnering her a Female Vocalist of the Year nomination at the KLOVE Fan Awards.  Now, the title track is impacting radio as, not only the fastest charting track in the artist’s career, but as the greatest gainer in Christian Music over the past 3 months.  “Exhale” just moved into the Top 10 on the Billboard Christian Songs Chart, and holds the #1 spot on the Christian Music Weekly CHR chart.
Opening support for the Exhale tour are New Zealand natives who are currently Nashville-based Rapture Ruckus and singer-songwriter Christa Wells.
Rapture Ruckus is one of those rare groups that has attracted a world-wide audience that defies labels. Drawn to their dynamic concerts where every light, special effect, graphic and lyric is created for the audience to fully experience the music and the message, Rapture Ruckus’ infectious blend of rock and hip-hop has found a loyal following with all races, ages and genders.  Earlier this year, Rapture Ruckus hit #1 on the Billboard Christian Album Chart for sales of it’s most recent studio album, INVADER (Deluxe Edition).
Christa Wells is not only a long-time friend of Plumb, but is also the co-writer of the "Need You Now" single. Based in North Carolina, Christa has independently released four albums which deepened her reputation for poignant lyricism and attracted a devoted tribe of listeners. Perhaps best known for writing Natalie Grant's groundbreaking single "Held" and being named the Gospel Music Association's Songwriter of the year in 2006, Christa now devotes much of her time to creative collaborations and to mentoring young songwriters. Stand-out tracks on her most recent album FEED YOUR SOUL are "Come Close Now" and "Shine."
The EXHALE TOUR is booked exclusively through Jeff Roberts and Associates.

Zakiya Hooker, Daughter of John Lee Hooker offers new music releases and video

Zakiya Hooker,
Daughter of Blues Icon
John Lee Hooker,
Serenades "Live" and "In The Mood"
With Jazzy New Music Releases and Video
Atlanta - Blues legend John Lee Hooker is best remembered for his iconic hits, "Boom, Boom" and "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." But perhaps his greatest legacy is found in the seductively supple vocal stylings of his daughter, the jazz-inflected, bluesy recording artist, Zakiya Hooker. Zakiya last showcased her brand of the remarkable Hooker inheritance with her 2009 CD release "Keeping It Real," an unbridled presentation of sassy melodious seduction. Her return to rhythm's landscape is now powerfully noted with her fifth and sixth releases, the consummate "In The Mood" and the outstanding performance production "Zakiya Hooker Live at the International BluesFest Eutin, Germany."
"In the Mood" is one of Zakiya's most diverse efforts to date.  With the music actually recorded in Argentina and Zakiya's vocals laid down in her current home state of Georgia, the project boasts eleven tracks drenched deep in the muddied Delta waters.  A defining contribution establishing her own legacy as a woman who intimately dances the blues, Zakiya, like her father, displays no notion of loudly belting the genre. Poised, regal and confident, instead she just pours the blues all over you. Like warm massage oil penetrating the skin, her songs simply seep inside the pores, tingling to the core.
When she opens with "Receipt to Sang the Blues," her 'proof of purchase' is a matter of fact, not notion, as her smooth vocals lusciously ride a rollicking blues train of testimony. Zakiya then simmers in a delicious serving of jazz flavored serenade on "Drowning," a lover's ode that gushes with tender surrender. "Look Me Up" offers up some seventies styled R&B while the title release "In the Mood," along with "One Step," reminiscence signature Hooker swag with amplified electric guitar over a steady, heavy blues trodden beat. The finger poppin' "Protect Me" swings hard marrying jazz and blues with regrets and remorse. Then Zakiya seals all deals with the closing track, her beautiful, serene lullaby "Sweet Baby J," a tribute to her son that she lost in 1991.

The video for the title track, "In the Mood" languidly lays out the blues for all to see. Romeo Wong Henderson, a native of Peru who lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, directed the video via his production company, RW Estudio, traveling to the states to shoot a portion of the scenes in Zakiya's home and neighborhood. Henderson then traveled back to Buenos Aires to finish and shoot the remaining scenes there. The resulting reel mixes southern comfort with South American heat for a visually stimulating treat.

Video for Zakiya Hooker's "In the Mood"
"Zakiya Hooker Live at the International BluesFest Eutin, Germany," transports the listener overseas and right beside Zakiya onstage as she charms a live audience with her jazzy blue interpretations. Performing blues classics as well as material from her vast catalog and John Lee Hooker originals, Zakiya proves she is live and 'not Memorex' with a voice that is smooth as silk and steadies the course under any conditions.
Zakiya made her debut performance in 1991 with her dad, John Lee Hooker, in Oakland, CA. She has since gone on to perform and record internationally. She has performed at the world famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City as part of the Blues Series by Martin Scorsese, graced the stage of the famous Fillmore Auditorium, The San Francisco Blues Festival and The Monterey Jazz & Blues Festival and covered several magazines including Billboard Magazine. Zakiya's voice has highlighted advertisements for Lexus and AIWA and award winning movie soundtracks.  The Bay Area Blues Society, South Bay Blues Society, KCSM radio station in San Mateo, CA and the city of Oakland have honored Zakiya with numerous awards and she has received the key to the city of Oakland, CA, her former home.

A native of Detroit and longtime resident of Oakland, CA, Zakiya now lives in Atlanta with her husband, producer and recording artist, Ollan Christopher aka Chris James. Ollan and Zakiya work as a wonderful musical team with him overseeing and producing all her musical ventures. Ollan's history includes forming the 1970's soul group, Natural Four. His group was with Curtom Records for seven years and appeared on American Bandstand, Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, Wolfman Jack's Midnight Special, Soul Train and performed at the world famous Apollo Theater. In 2003 Ollan had the honor of producing "Face To Face," the final recording of John Lee Hooker.

"The blues is one of our last national treasures. I am happy to do my part and keep it alive and nourished. I know that's the way my daddy would have wanted it. His music contributions continue to impact pop culture to this day, and I know he is in the studio with me every time as I continue to keep his legend alive," offer Zakiya.
