SIX SHOOTER RECORDS SIGNS WHITNEY ROSE, VINTAGE COUNTRY POP UP-AND-COMER

buzzz worthy. . .

Whitney Rose, purveyor of stylish countrypolitan music for modern ears, starts 2016 by signing with Six Shooter Records, a label known for its eclectic excellence with Whitehorse, Sam Outlaw, Tanya Tagaq and more.

The vintage country pop specialist’s sophomore offering, Heartbreaker of the Year, released in August 2015, converted critics’ double takes into palpable buzz with its beguiling blend of then and now.

Heartbreaker of the Year was produced by The Mavericks’ Raul Malo, who also duets on multiple tracks. Rose’s vocals convey both vulnerability and sharpness – a contrast that permeates her music as a whole – to enthralling results. The album’s success has impelled those in the know to include Rose’s name in any conversation about the future faces of Americana and Country music. Enthusiastic responses to Heartbreaker of the Year have come from Rolling Stone, New York Times, American Songwriter, The Boot and more.

2016 will bring more shows across North America. Rose continues to pack Austin’s famed Continental Club every Thursday at 6:30pm with her ongoing artist residency. A debut gig in Los Angeles is confirmed for Thursday, February 18 @ 7pm at Hotel Café.
