Charlotte protests continued following death of Keith Lamont Scott

Following the death of Keith Lamont Scott, 3 days of protests in Charlotte, NC ended with a curfew Thursday night. One protestor was shot Thursday and to date 12 officers are injured per USA Today.

The crowd spilled over to I-277 from the uptown business district.

Justin Carr, 26, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head during protests in uptown Wednesday night before has died. Police said Carr was shot by a civilian.

The video of the shooting has not been released to the public, but was viewed by the family of the victim. The Charlotte Observer newspaper reports conflicting accounts from the perspective of the family versus law enforcement. The family said Scott was killed while walking backwards with his hands at his side. All along authorities have said the victim had a gun in his hand and posed a threat as he would not release the weapon when repeatedly asked.
