And this month, the celebrated comedian will embark on his “Bringin’ The Funny…. Stand Up & Be Encouraged” tour to audiences in select cities this fall. With tickets at an affordable $20 each, the show is fun and appropriate for the whole family. His clean yet fresh approach is by using everyday life occurrences, which in turn creates a hilarious interaction with the audience that is unscripted and unplanned. Each show is sure to not only bring laughter, but encouragement. This hopeful, honest and hilarious style of comedy, will leave audiences inspired to give and serve others. Additionally, surprises will take place during the critically acclaimed comedian’s highly anticipated "Break Time" that shouldn’t be missed.

“My goal with this tour is to get people to act,” explains the stand-up comedian. “I always want to make people laugh, but then what? You see, in comedy we have a set up and then a punch line, and it is the same with life. We go through our days looking at how we advance our career, how we grow and support our family but we often forget the punch line: the delivery of life. I want people to think about what they are giving out to others and encourage them to step out and help others and make a difference.”

Michael Jr. has shared the stage with international sensations including Tyler Perry, Oprah, Dave Ramsey, George W. Bush and Ed Catmull (co-founder of Pixar Animation Studios/President of Walt Disney Animation Studios), just to name a few. The Grand Rapids native has entertained audiences across the board from performing in homeless shelters, prisons and abused children’s facilities to national Christian events such as Catalyst Conference, Gateway Church to major network talk shows. Most recently, he made his film debut in the No.1 box office hit War Room. Michael Jr. is a man comfortable on any stage with material clean enough to work in churches, funny enough to work in clubs.

buzzz worthy. . .

(New York) - TLC's first-ever scripted series - Tyler Perry's TOO CLOSE TO HOME debuts on Monday, August 22 at 9pm ET/PT with a two-hour premiere. An 8-part drama, TOO CLOSE TO HOME, tells the story of a young woman from a modest upbringing who discovers she may have a bright future in Washington D.C.'s fast-paced political scene. When Anna (Danielle Savre) leaves her trailer park home in Alabama in a cloud of dust, she cuts all ties with her family and buries every element of her checkered past. Her friends in Washington think she comes from a wealthy family and know nothing of her real upbringing. Suddenly, the real Anna is exposed when she causes a major political scandal and makes national headlines for her part in an affair with one of the nation's most powerful players. With nowhere to turn, she's forced to find sanctuary in the only place she has left - home.

Orlando club shooter's father causes a stir by attending Clinton rally

buzzz worthy. . .

On Monday the father of Orlando club shooter Omar Mateen sat behind Hillary Clinton at her Florida rally waving the American flag. The optic was alarming and puzzling to many commentors online. Omar Mateen died in a shoot out with police after he massacred 49 at Pulse Night Club. U.S. Senator Bill Nelson, who introduced Clinton at the event later said Seddique Mateen's presence there was "unconscienable." The Clinton campaign said in a statement they did not invite Mr. Mateen and did not know he was there. The rally was open to the public. Nearly 3,000 people attended.

Beach Boys, Chance the Rapper, Prince, Corinne Bailey Rae and more make Pres. Obama's final Summer play list

buzzz worthy. . .

What music has President Obama been grooving to lately?

Songs by rappers, Pop and R&B stars and a slate of legends from various music genres made President Obama's 2016 Summertime Play List.  On August 11, while vacationing at Martha's Vineyard, Obama cooly released two lists of music he listens to both day and night via Spotify. "Been waiting to drop this," he tweeted.

With singles by The Beach Boys, Chance the Rapper, Prince, Manu Chao and Corinne Bailey Rae in the mix, his taste in music couldn't be more eclectic and the masses are loving it.  POTUS' track listing has a high approval rating among social media followers who have used the flame emoji  and 100 to signify their acceptance of it.

Obama (AKA "DJ Barry O") has the traits of a good DJ.  Any  DJ worth his name knows when to toss in the oldie but goodies.  Both of Obama's list boast well placed classics intertwined with the latest jams.  The throwback to D'Angelo's "Lady" and Janet Jackson's "I Get So Lonely" is a welcome reminder of some of the best jams of the 1990s.

A word of caution for young listeners -- the list isn't exactly appropriate for all ages.  The version of Jidenna's "Classic Man" does not censor the n-word or expletives.

Beyonce, one of his all time favorites did not make the list this time, while her hubby Jay Z did.  Queen Bey was a guest at Obama's 55th birthday bash last week at the White House. Since the rest of us missed the party memo  think of this as an invitation to jam out with the President on the the commute to or from work, while at the gym or on your evening jog or in any way you please.

(SILVER SPRING, MD.)  - Investigation Discovery, the leading destination for true crime programming, announced today that it will greenlight a sophomore season of its hit series I AM HOMICIDE, following former homicide detective Garry McFadden. Det. McFadden is an officer unlike any other. He fully immerses himself on every street corner to protect and serve the community he holds dear.  Det. McFadden uses his street smarts and, most importantly, his connection with the citizens of Charlotte Mecklenburg County that he has fostered for nearly three decades. His dedication to the pursuit of justice is equally as important as the lives of the families he has vowed to protect as if they were his own. I AM HOMICIDE will debut during 2Q of 2017 only on Investigation Discovery.
During each one-hour episode, McFadden showcases his unorthodox methods to explain how he solved the most precarious cases of his career. He'll go anywhere, talk to anyone, with backup or not. With more than a 90-percent success rate with the investigations he pursues, he puts it all on the line to solve the crime - and it's worked for more than 700 cases. This unique look at justice shows McFadden's fiery passion; all the while he's wearing the best suits in town. And, after thirty-five years on the force, he shows no signs of slowing down.
"Garry McFadden has a tenacious spirit with the personality to match, and our audiences who tuned in each and every week agree," says Jane Latman SVP of Development for Investigation Discovery. "Given the turmoil between those who are tasked with serving and protecting and frustrated community members, Garry is a true example of that unifying voice so desperately needed in our nation today."
I AM HOMICIDE is produced for Investigation Discovery by Blackfin. Executive producers for Blackfin are Geno McDermott, Alexa Conway and Patrick Conway. For Investigation Discovery, Diana Sperrazza is senior executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President of Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and Destination America.
