2017 SAG AWARD winners

buzzz worthy. . .

Last night in L.A. "Hidden Figures" took home a SAG Award for Best Performance by  an Ensemble. It was the crowing moment at event where the acting elite were recognized for their contribution in film and television.  Several winners used the stage as  political platform to denounce the Muslim ban, which at times made the atmosphere tense. Country legend actress Dolly Parton lightened the mood referring to "double Ds"  before presenting her "9 to 5" costar Lily Tomlin with the Life Achievement Award.

It was also a big night for veteran actor Denzel Washington who won his first SAG for the lead in "Fences."  Hi co-star, Viola Davis made history by becoming the first African American woman to win 5 SAGs, her fifth as Best Supporting Actress in Fences.
