WATCH: President Trump's Weekly Address

I this week's address Pres. Trump discusses legislation that he says will lower energy prices for all Americans.

My fellow Americans,

We have taken major steps during the first few weeks of my Administration to remove wasteful regulations and get our people back to work. I have been saying I was going to do that for a long time.

This week I signed two pieces of legislation to remove burdens on our economy, continue to keep my promises to the American People and so much more.

I signed House Joint Resolution 38, which eliminates an anti-coal regulation put forward by unelected bureaucrats.  Our coal miners have been treated horribly, and we are going to turn that around - and we are going to turn it around quickly. We are going to fight for lower energy prices for all Americans as part of the deal.

That’s why I also signed a resolution to eliminate a costly regulation Dodd-Frank imposed on American energy companies. By stopping this regulation, we are able to save American companies and workers millions and millions of dollars in job-killing compliance costs.

But to truly succeed as a country, we must realize the full potential of women in our economy.

That is why I was thrilled to host the White House’s women’s business leaders roundtable—very exciting, great women.

As President, I am committed to ensuring that women entrepreneurs have equal access to the capital, markets, and networks of support that they need, and I mean really need. And it’s going to happen.  This is a priority for my Administration.  I campaigned on helping women in the workforce, and we are going to deliver on that promise, believe me.

In fact, as part of my first official meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this week, we announced the creation of the joint United States-Canada Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders. Actually, very exciting.

The United States also reaffirmed our unbreakable bond this week with our cherished ally, Israel. It was an honor to welcome my friend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House.

I affirmed to the Prime Minister America’s commitment to working with Israel and our allies and partners toward greater security and stability.  The threat of terrorism—and believe me it is a threat—must be confronted and defeated and we will defeat it.

We share with Israel a deep conviction that we must protect all innocent human life.

So as you head into the President’s Day weekend, the American people should know that we are working tirelessly on your behalf.  We are not here for the benefit of bureaucrats, consultants, or pundits—we are here to work for you, and only for you, the American people.

Thank you, God Bless you and God Bless America.

Andrew Puzder, Trump's Labor Sec. pick walks away from position

Andrew Puzder, Pres. Trump's nominee for Sec. of Labor, has withdrawn himself from consideration over claims of domestic abuse and hiring an illegal worker. A tape of his ex-wife speaking to Oprah about their marital issues was exposed. The ex has since come forth saying she mischaracterized him on the show and only wanted a free trip. He admitted to hiring an undocumented housekeeper. In addition to these scars on his integrity it was unlikely that he would be confired. Puzder also lacked bi-partisan support.

Puzder was the CEO of Hardees and Carl's Jr. burger chains. His failure to be confirmed is the second blow to the Trump administration in a week, as they try to recover from the resigatnion of National Security advisor, Micahel Flynn's resgination over sharing sensitive information with a Russian Ambassaor.

Catch CeCe Winans on The Real and Home and Family

After a near decade-long hiatus, ten-time GRAMMY winner CeCe Winans returns, debuting atop the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart with her “finest and most eclectic work to date” (Garden & Gun), ‘Let Them Fall In Love.’ The record's lead single “Never Have to Be Alone” has already climbed to number four on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs Chart.

‘Let Them Fall In Love’ is “retro, gospel and rootsy” (Atlanta Journal Constitution) — a diversion from the multiplatinum-selling artist's previous work. It dances with horns, strings and pianos from the Nashville String Machine and features fellow Detroit-born legends The Clark Sisters. CeCe’s son Alvin Love III co-produced the Motown-inspired throwback with her longtime collaborator Tommy Sims (Garth Brooks, Michael McDonald, Bonnie Raitt).

CeCe will appear as a guest on both The Real and Hallmark Channel's Home & Family on Thurs., Feb. 16, and she’ll participate in the Love Rocks NYC! concert alongside William Bell, Gary Clark Jr., Mavis Staples and many others at the Beacon Theatre on Thurs., Mar. 9.

Her soul-stirring Austin City Limits performance brought the Moody Theater audience off their feet countless times and earned multiple standing ovations over the course of five songs. Watch it here: http://www.pbs.org/video/2365941503/

SILVER SPRING, MD -- Season 10 of TV One's longest-running and award-winning series Unsung continues with a profile on the platinum-selling singing group After 7 on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. ET.

After 7 is a dynamic singing trio composed of brothers Kevon and Melvin Edmonds, along with friend Keith Mitchell. The group basically walked right into the music industry with the help of their popular brother, R&B singer/songwriter/producer, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, signing with Virgin Records without even an audition.  And with '90s hits like Heat of the Moment, Ready or Not, Can't Stop, and Baby I'm For Real, it appeared that the industry hunch about the group had paid off.

However, disagreements over the direction of their career led to frustrations with their label, and despite three gold albums, the group broke up at the top of their game - only to pick up where they left off two decades later, with their first studio album in 20 years. In 2016, After 7 released a new single, Let Me Know, featuring the group's signature R&B sound that fans have always loved.
Unsung special guests to provide insights include Babyface, Steven Russell Harts, Allen McNeil and Steve Ivory.

Read the Full Statement: Flynn resigns amid Russian controversy

By Mona Austin

Retired Army Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, Donald Trump's pick for National Security Advisor has resigned. Flynn, who was accused of having a questionable relationship with the Russian government, is the latest to fail in what Trump critics view as the administration's house of cards.

Flynn, former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) was also previously under fire for saying that Islamism is a cancer and accepting pay to speak in Russia.

The strongest accsusation hurled against him suggests he discussed with a Russian ambassador the retaliatory sanctions President Barack Obama's administrationimposed on Russia for interference in the election.  Flynn denied having that conversation to Vice President Pence. On Monday, Flynn has admitted in a statement he gave the President and VP "incomplete" information. Flynn's statement and resgination follows:

Unfortunately, because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the Vice President Elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian Ambassador. I have sincerely apologized to the President and the Vice President, and they have accepted my apology.

Throughout my over thirty three years of honorable military service, and my tenure as the National Security Advisor, I have always performed my duties with the utmost of integrity and honesty to those I have served, to include the President of the United States.
I am tendering my resignation, honored to have served our nation and the American people in such a distinguished way.

I am also extremely honored to have served President Trump, who in just three weeks, has reoriented American foreign policy in fundamental ways to restore America's leadership position in the world.

As I step away once again from serving my nation in this current capacity, I wish to thank President Trump for his personal loyalty, the friendship of those who I worked with throughout the hard fought campaign, the challenging period of transition, and during the early days of his presidency.

I know with the strong leadership of President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence and the superb team they are assembling, this team will go down in history as one of the greatest presidencies in U.S. history, and I firmly believe the American people will be well served as they all work together to help Make America Great Again.

Michael T. Flynn, LTG (Ret)
Assistant to the President / National Security Advisor

In the course of my duties as the incoming National Security Advisor, I held numerous phone calls with foreign counterparts, ministers, and ambassadors. These calls were to facilitate a smooth transition and begin to build the necessary relationships between the President, his advisors and foreign leaders. Such calls are standard practice in any transition of this magnitude.

The nation is left vulnerable without one of the most siginificant advisors three weeks into Trump's reign. CNN reports for CIA head David Patreaus is under consideration as a replacement. Also included on the short list of potential replacements are RETIRED VICE ADMIRAL ROBERT HARWARD and RETIRED LT. GEN. KEITH KELLOGG.

Last month Acting Attorney General Sally Yates warned the Trump Administration that Flynn msled the administration about what he discussed with a Russian ambassador. It is also beleived Flynn was the target of Russian blackmail.

Nick Canon resigns from America's Got Talent

Choosing to walk away rather than being let go, actor-comedianNick Canon has resigned as host of NBC's America's Got Talent.  Apparently, Canon was involved in a comedy special separate from the show where he told a joke that the producers felt "disparaged" their name, ths they beleid he breached their contract.  Canon syas he feels he is being censored.  A detailed letter posted on his Facebook page breaks down the fall out:

I write this from a deeply saddened and dolorous mindset. After days of deliberating over some extremely disappointing news that I was being threatened with termination by Executives because of a comedy special that was only intended to bring communities closer together, I was to be punished for a joke.
This has weighed heavy on my spirit. It was brought to my attention by my "team" that NBC believed that I was in breach of contract because I had disparaged their brand. In my defense, I would ask how so? Or is this just another way to silence and control an outspoken voice who often battles the establishment.
Recently many of my mentors have cautioned me that soon 'The System' would come down on me because I was speaking too many truths and being to (sic) loud about it. I had no idea that it all would hit so close to home. I find myself in a dark place having to make a decision that I wish I didn't have to, but as a man, an artist, and a voice for my community I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property.
There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity. I have loved hosting AMERICAS GOT TALENT for the last 8 seasons, watching talented, brave, and courageous Americans accomplish their dreams in front of millions has been nothing but a joy, and everyone has been a pleasure to work with but my soul won't allow me to be in business with corporations that attempt to frown on freedom of speech, censor artists, and question cultural choices. Not to get too detailed but this isn't the first time executives have attempted to "put me in my place" for so called unruly actions. I will not stand for it.
My moral principles will easily walk away from the millions of dollars they hang over my head. It's never been about the money for me, what is difficult to walk away from is the fans, the people who love me on the show. This hurts tremendously. I felt like I was apart of the fabric of our great nation every summer, representing every culture, age, gender, and demographic. Now for the rug to be pulled from underneath me and to be publicly reprimanded and ridiculed over a joke about my own race is completely wrong and I have to do something about it.
I have fought many battles in my career and have never been afraid to go up against the system. I have mulled over my process for days and felt it was best to once again speak my mind about an unjust infrastructure that treat talent like they own them. Maybe it was my mistake for signing the contract in the first place, in which I will take full responsibility and have already taken action to restructure my own team of advisors.
I now have to set out on a journey of freedom as an artist. As I was quoted in a recent interview, "You can't fire a Boss!" and that is the essence that I possess. So I wish AGT and NBC the best in its upcoming season but I can not see myself returning.
As of lately I have even questioned if I want to even be apart of an industry who ultimately treats artists in this manner. Most of us don't realize that there are 6 major corporations that control 90 percent of media in America and the amount of minority executives is dismal. With this being the case, true equality in our industry is impossible.
There will always be a 'do as I say' mentality that mirrors society's perception of women and minorities, and only a few will stand up against it. I proudly stand as one of those few, and will gladly take on whatever repercussions that come with it. I love art andentertainment too much to watch it be ruined by controlling corporations and big business. I believe It's our duty as artists to make a difference and create change even if it's one act at a time. Dr. King said it best, 'Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter'"
Does Hollywood try to ontrol talent? Do you agree or disagree with Canon? Leave your comment.
