WHITE HOUSE STAFFING ISSUES

The White House is working with a skeletal staff after recent resignations and claims of chaos among those who remain.  Last week, First Lady Melania Trump lost her Director of Communications, Hope Hicks by resignation.  On Tuesday Trump's Chief   Economic Advisor, Gary Cohn announced his resignation.  More than 30 senior staffers have departed 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. by termination or  quitting. That is is about 43% of the staff according to the Brookings Institution, a turn over rate greater than the last 4 presidents that preceded him.  President Barack Obama had a 25% turn over rate after 2 years.  Trump has only been in office 13 months.  When asked in a press briefing if management was responsible for the departures, Press Secretary Sara Huckabee Sanders said is was not an issue.  

2018 PARALYMPICS BEGIN

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen led the U.S. delegation at the opening ceremonies of the 2018 Paralympic Games kicking off in Pyeongchang, South Korea today.  

GIRL SCOUT CHANNEL TRAILBLAZING WOMEN

Trump is continuing the conversation on gun contrOl with young people targeting vidoe games. So far  from the Capital Hill talk is all the American people have gotten.  Trump met with lawmakers demanding immediate changes.  Retail stores like Dicks Sporting Goods and Walmart are leading the way by no longer stocking certain weapons.  Florida is leading the way in  states fighting to raise the age requirement for purchasing guns to 21.

In Entertainment, Jordan Peele won the Oscar for best screenplay for the movie Get Out, the making history as the first African American to do so.  Peele known as half of the comedy team Key and Peele wrote and directed the film.  Black Panther continues to see support at the box offices having made over In theatres today.
