TUNE-IN ALERT: SHEREVEPORT, LA HOSTS MISS USA ON MAY 21 AS HOMETOWN GIRL COMPETES



Contestants in the Miss USA Pageant are getting a dose of Northern Louisiana hospitality in Shreveport.  The current Miss USA will surrender her crown tonight in the "Port City" when 50 contestants compete for the title live on FOX.  Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the event is being held at the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum. Reigning Miss Louisiana, Lauren Vizza will represent both her hometown and state in the pageant.  More details follow:




SHREVEPORT, La. - The 2018 Miss USA Competition will be airing live on Monday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. on FOX from the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, La.
Actress, host and former pageant winner Vanessa Lachey and her husband, multi-platinum recording artist and television personality Nick Lachey, will host the competition.
Vanessa was crowned Miss Teen USA 1998 and has served as a backstage correspondent for Miss USA® in 2001 and co-host of the 2007 Miss Universe® pageant.
First appearing together at last year’s Miss Universe, TV personality and fashion expert Carson Kressley and supermodel and pageant expert Lu Sierra reprise their roles for Miss USA as competition insiders to provide analysis and commentary throughout the live telecast.
The 2018 Miss USA competition is a two-hour special event which concludes with Miss USA 2017 Kára McCullough crowning her successor. Women representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia will compete for the opportunity of becoming the next Miss USA.
Shreveport native ​​​​​​Lauren Vizza will compete as Miss Louisiana USA 2018 in the pageant.
