BRYAN ANDREW WILSON
HITS BILLBOARD CHART WITH “THE ONE PERCENT” CD
& VISITS SYNDICATED “THE LONNIE HUNTER SHOW” ON FRIDAY

Dove and Stellar Award nominated singer/songwriter Bryan Andrew Wilson has hit the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart for the first time since 1996 when the then 12 year-old reached #14 with his solo CD debut “Bryan’s Songs.” The dynamic vocalist’s current and fifth solo CD “The One Percent” lands in the #18 slot on the Top Gospel Albums chart in the July 5th issue of Billboard Magazine.

The soul-stirring CD is fueled by the Top 20 radio hit “Turning Away” that has impressed many gospel radio programmers and caused them to look at Wilson with a new level of respect. “Bryan has a once-in-a-lifetime single with Turning Away,” says Lee Pettigrew, Program Director of WUFO in Buffalo, NY. “It can be played on true Urban AC radio. This song can fit into a movie. It’s smooth, clear, personal and powerful. John Legend would have wanted to be able to do this one but Bryan got there first.”

Bryan celebrates the success of “Turning Away” this Friday, June 27th in the 6 p.m. EST hour with a visit to the nationally-syndicated radio program, “The Lonnie Hunter Show.” Meanwhile, the new album and radio single are garnering Wilson the best reviews of his career.  The Birmingham Times’ music critic Esther Callens calls the project “remarkable” in a June 19th article and writes that it’s “Wilson’s most impressive work to date.” A scribe for the ASCAP online portal also notes, “the passionate and vibrant recording is a testament to gospel music’s enduring power and growth.”

Wilson, who is also a dynamic preacher, made his big splash in the gospel pool as the ten year old soloist for “His Eye is on the Sparrow” with The Mississippi Children’s Choir in 1994.  His debut CD “Bryan’s Songs” was produced by the late Walter Hawkins, John P. Kee and Kirk Franklin. Wilson earned Dove and Stellar Award nominations for his music and made cameos on Malaco Records sessions with Rev. James Moore and LaShun Pace. After a recording hiatus to attend Claflin University and Princeton Theological Seminary, Wilson returned to the recording booth in 2008. Instagram: BryanAndrewWilson.
