Natalie Cole's cause of death revealed
buzzz worthy. . .
A week after the New Year's Eve passing of R&B legend Natalie Cole, her family has revealed the cause of death. Initial reports said the singer died of complications of various illnesses. The 65-year-old daughter of the late Nat King Cole had been secretly fighting lung disease for years, while continuing to perform, following a kidney transplant in 2009. Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension, which lead to heart failure was the cause of death her family confirmed Thursday in a statement:
"(Cole) responded well to pulmonary arterial hypertension-specific agents over many years, during which she performed many concerts world-wide, but eventually succumbed to intractable right heart failure, an outcome that unfortunately commonly occurs in this progressive disorder."
