                                  UPDATE & HIGHLIGHTS: 

                                  The opening of the show could not have been more straight than Bruno Mars and his Hooligans performing slick moves to "Perm."

                                  Remy Ma, after returning to music from a six year stint in jail, took the crown from her nemesis Nicky Minaj as Best Female Rapper solidifying  an online beef she started with the "Shether" diss track that caimed Minaj was only on top because she was behind bars.  Minaj has won the honor for 7 consecutive years.  Remy Ma won it before being incarcerated.

                                  New Edition pleased the crowd with their words and their performances taking the audience down memory lane with some of the greatest hits.

                                  Michelle Obama fellow Chicagoan introduced CHANCE THE RAPPER before he received the Humanitarian Award for supporting educational and social initiatives within his community and throughout the U.S. As the youngest BET Awards Humanitarian Honoree to date, Chance, 24 talked about the importance of working on ourselves before we work on the world.  He said he is a good man who is striving to become a better man.
