AWARDS SHOW AND TRIBUTE CONCERT CELEBRATES RECORDING ACADEMY™ 2018 SPECIAL MERIT AWARDS RECIPIENTS 

SANTA MONICA, CALIF. (JULY 10, 2018) — The Recording Academy™ has expanded its lineup for the "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends®," an awards ceremony and live tribute concert celebrating the 2018 Special Merit Awards honorees on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Added to the lineup are four-time GRAMMY® winner Yolanda Adams, who will perform and honor Tony Agnello and Richard Factor, GRAMMY winner Gustavo Dudamel who will present to John Williams; violinist Anne Akiko Meyers, who will perform in tribute to Williams; and members of The Meters, including Joseph "​Zigaboo" Modeliste, Cyril Neville, Leo Nocentelli, and George Porter Jr. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Hal Blaine, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Louis Jordan, The Meters, Queen, and Tina Turner. Trump grants clemency to father and son fire starters involved in stnad off

Today it was announced President Donald Trump exercised executive authority in granting  clemency to a father and son from Oregon who  were sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for starting a fire on federal land.  Dwight and Steven Hammond ended up in a stand off with law enforcement and both served the majority of their time.    Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in a statement called their sentencing under the Obama Administration "unjust."

Today, President Donald J. Trump signed Executive Grants of Clemency (Full Pardons) for Dwight Lincoln Hammond, Jr., and his son, Steven Hammond.  The Hammonds are multi-generation cattle ranchers in Oregon imprisoned in connection with a fire that leaked onto a small portion of neighboring public grazing land.  The evidence at trial regarding the Hammonds’ responsibility for the fire was conflicting, and the jury acquitted them on most of t…

Woodbridge receives third threat in one week + statement from PWC police

Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge VA   notified parents of a another threat of violence against the Prince William County school last Tuesday -- the third threat in a week.  The automated call came in at around 4:50 p.m.. A woman's voice announced the school received another threat indicating there would be violence on a "date in the near future."

Last week it was reported a message appearing on a school bathroom wall indicated there would be a shooting there within a date range that corresponded to the return to school after Winter break. Allegedly, it is supectd that the thrats re an attempt by students to get out of class.

By Thursday of that week there was a second threat referencing a specific date range that authorities also  deemed "non-credible."
