Shutdown Bill Passes In U.S. House
The House voted 222-209 to reooen the government. The deal does not resolve all outstanding issues — notably, the extension of certain health-care premium subsidies (under the Affordable Care Act) was not included.
The funding provided is temporary, in that it funds the government through a certain date (January 30, 2026 for many parts) and leaves some programs funded for the rest of fiscal year.
Pres. Donald Trump will sign H.R. 5371 - Continuing Appropriations Ag, Leg Branch, Milcon-VA and Extensions Act 2026 on Thursday
