When asked why the sudden release of a Christmas album Lindsey answered as any happy married man would, "I did this record in three weeks solely to keep my promise to my wife who was in need of new holiday music." Other favorites include the jazz infused instrumentals "Let It Snow," "Silent Night," and "Holiday Getaway," the perfect tunes for a ride on the coast, and the more traditional "Angels We Have Heard On High/O Come Let Us Adore Him," "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Christmas Prayer (Watch Over)" that instantly puts us in the mood for hot chocolate and marshmallows.With internationally-known accomplishments the multiple Grammy, Stellar and Dove award winner and premiere songwriter stays very humble while taking it all in. In fact, he admits, "I'm so used to being interviewed for other people's projects I've worked on that I'm lost for words when it comes to talking about myself."To date his most notable work is the RIAA gold certified "Thirsty" which he produced for Pastor Marvin Sapp with an unprecedented 105 weeks in the Billboard top ten breaking numerous number one Billboard gospel and number one radio marks. In addition, the song "Never Would Have Made It" set a new record for the longest running single in the history of the R&R charts, and sold over 1,000,000 ring tones. Winans, Sr. has wed his long time girlfriend Deneen R. Carter. Carter is a 57-year-old physical therapist and minister at Perfecting Church in Detroit, founded by Winans.
