Another Touchdown for 12th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration: Sold out gospel event beats bad weather

By Mona Austin

One week ago today, Melanie Few Harrison, founder of the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, did not know if the event she'd planned for an entire year would take place.

For over a week, Dallas, TX, and the surrounding area of Arlington, where Superbowl 45 would be held, wrestled with a seemingly relentless winter storm system--the worst in 15 years.

Numerous flights and other scheduled events were canceled. Few wondered if  poor road conditions would cause her to cancel. But, no rain nor winter storm could stop this holy ghost party.

Few- Harrison and her team prayed for a successful outcome and an acclaimed list NFL players, an all-star slate of gospel entertainers, Jessie Jackson and  perhaps the most faithful fans in the grid iron showed up for another Super Bowl Gospel Touchdown!  Not only did fans show up,but Super Bowl Gospel  12 sold out!

Held at the Fairplex Music Hall, Super Bowl Gospel is the only NFL sanctioned event.

Few Harrison said, ". . .for these people to turn out like this, it was all God."

WATCH THE VIDEO to hear why the fans braved the brutal weather to get to the show, hear the inspiring testimony of Pittsburgh Steelers' Antwaan Randle El, why this is a must-attend event for the Atlanta Falcon's Ovie Mughelli and performance highlights.
