Star of 'The Game' Reveals How He Got His Nickname

My best guess would be that those puppy dog eyes inspired the nickname "Pooch" for Marion "Pooch" Hall, who plays Derwin Davis on BET's "The Game."  Well, I'm wrong,  but there is a cute story behind the on-screen athlete's name.

In our brief chat Hall told me while he was in his mother's womb, a neighbor  talked to her tummy calling the unborn child "Pookie."  His father, Marion Hall, Sr.,( notorious for mispronouncing names) thought he was saying the same thing the neighbor said, calling him "Poochie" once he was born.  A shorter version of the fudged nickname stuck and that's what all his friends and fans call him today.   God thing he and his dad share the the same government name.

And ladies, in case you were wondering, this hotty is taken.  Ballerwives.com reports he and wife, Linda met at Dartmouth and got married after graduation.  The couple have two adorable daughters.  Read nmore about Pooch Hall in the current issue of "Bleu," a men's fashion and lifestyle glossy.
