ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- NAMM 2014 -- Today, at the 2014 NAMM show, Bohemian Guitars, maker of one-of-a-kind electric guitars inspired by the streets of South Africa, announces 'Far Out Fridays', a social action initiative aimed to promote music education and music therapy services to children around the world.

The special initiative begins tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 24: For each Bohemian Guitar sold on a Friday, the company will donate a guitar to partnering organizations.

"One of our key philosophies when launching this startup was that we would give back to the community and support youth music education programs," said Mark Friedman, Chief Bohemian Officer at Bohemian Guitars. "Knowing the many benefits learning an instrument has on early childhood development, we are excited to launch the 'Far Out Fridays' program with some of the most notarized music education and music therapy non-profits in the world. By sharing the gift of music, we hope these kids learn the value of a creative outlet, with perhaps some of them turning into the 'Bohemian' music talents of tomorrow."

Organizations currently signed-up to participate in 'Far Out Fridays' include: Sound Art, Little Kids Rock, Guitars Not Guns, Music Heals, Nordoff Robbins, Fender Music Foundation, GRAMMY Foundation, Pick With Austin, Tipitina's Foundation, Education Through Music, and Ethos.

"We rely on programs like 'Far Out Fridays' so we can offer at-risk youth a creative outlet to divert them from self-destructive behavior," said Ray Nelson, Founder at Guitars Not Guns Music Program. "We are grateful to be working with an organization that understands the positive effects music can have on children's lives."

Inspired by the townships in South Africa, Bohemian Guitars creates one-of-a-kind guitars using unconventional materials, producing a sound like no other guitar on the market.
