JUST IN: Colbert to replace retiring Letterman

CBS has confirmed, when Late Show host David Letterman retires next year, Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central's Colbert Report will be his replacement.

Simply being a guest on David Letterman’s show has been a highlight of my career,” said Colbert said in the press release. “I never dreamed that I would follow in his footsteps, though everyone in late night follows Dave’s lead.
“I’m thrilled & grateful that CBS chose me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth.”

By Mona Austin Much of what the average American knows about Frederick Douglass lies in the pages of "The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave."  His memory has lived on through the annals of history as a heroic abolitionist.
