Singer Robin Thicke is feeling lost without his wife, actress Paula Patton. The couple separated in February after nine years of marriage due to alleged infidelity. Since their break up Thicke has left a trail of emotions at concerts and online, letting Patton and the world know he misses her and wants another chance to love her again. Usually when men want to win back lost love, they do something extraordinary and the bigger the mess up the bigger the apology. A room full of roses, the purchase of a huge diamond or other high ticket item are some drastic ways men have tried to mend broken hearts. In an attempt to get his estranged wife Paula Patton back, Robin Thicke is naming his upcoming album "Paula." Announced on the "Steve Harvey Morning Show" on Wednesday, Thicke said typically artists record break up albums about the wrong they've suffered, but his is about accepting the wrong he's done. Since the couple's separation in February, Thicke has publicly expressed his desire to remain married. He told Harvey and crew, "I'm going Mississippi. I'm about to be the White Otis," which is a reference to Blues and begging for a woman's forgiveness on bended knee like old-school crooner Otis Redding.
Set to a slow, sexy beat, the new single Thicke is using to reel Patton back into his arms is called "Get You Back." The lyrics are: ""I got to get you back, get you back, get you back. I got to make it right, make it right, make it right." Harvey applauded Thicke for going out on a limb t repair his marriage while calling the wifey tribute album a "player" move. Thicke didn't hesitate to say he was sincere. Either way this type of plea adds up to major PR and publicity for the forthcoming album and may equal back-to-back success following the No. 1 debut of multi-award-winning"Blurred Lines."
"Get You Back" premiered on the Billboard Music Awards, which he dedicated to Mrs. Thicke. However, the begging started at a concert in Fairfax, VA earlier this year. Said Thicke, “For those of you who don’t know, my wife and I got separated a few days ago. But you know I want everybody to know that I’m trying to get my girl back. But you know, she told me, she said, ‘You should go out there and tell the truth. You should tell them you’re trying to get me back.’ She’s a good woman, you know.”
Paula was so good she appeared in videos with her hubby and praised their relationship in interviews, never letting on there were any issues in the relationship. But the Internet was unrelenting about her hubby's tendency to blur the lines of their marriage. To top off the questionable "Blurred Lines" performance with Miley Cyrus on the VMAs, a photo of Thicke allegedly groping socialite Lana Scolaro's hind part after the award show was passed around the Internet. Another incriminating photo of Thicke coming close to locking lips with another woman overseas didn't help matters. Shortly thereafter, the high school sweethearts released a joint statement to People announcing their break up.
The R&B vocalist's romantic antics might be working. Murmurings of a divorce have died down, although Patton has not officially confirmed her intent. "We've known each other since we were teenagers," she said in a recent Vanity Fair interview. "All I can tell you is there's a deep love there—always was, and always will be. He wasn't my first kiss, but he was my first lots of other things."
