WATCH: Jill Scott does a passionate blues ballad in new video

buzzz worthy. . .

In the video for her latest single, Jill Scott takes a sip of honey-colored courage and proceeds to a microphone in a dark, dusty room.  It appears that there is just Scott, with Qwsest Love on the drums beside her and a group of fellas singing BGVs.  When she opens her mouth another presence fills the room. . .her blues.  Scott just joined Instagram and shortly after she dropped the video for "You Don't Know," a LorraineEllison‬ re-make.  It's the first time I' recall hearing her sing a blues number and boy can she sing the blues. Scott has worn her feelings on her proverbial sleeves in previous ballads, but the rendering of this cut is sees the Philly girl on another plane of vulnerability.

Youtube viewers are loving the song and excited for the full album.  "You Don't Know" will appear on Scott's long-awaited fifth album, the follow-up to 2011's The Light of the Sun.

 Watch the video here:

One can't help but feel the passionate force of her voice as she sings every emotionally-drunken bar.

She'll gain some new followers with this one.  Welcome to Instagram, Jil.
