OPINION: Bachelorette Andi risked her reputation now she's upset?
buzzz worthy. . .
On the season finale of The Bachelorette last week during the Final Rose Ceremony viewers saw a reversal of roles that was AWK-WARD even for reality TV. Andi became the first Bachelorette (that we know of) to toss chastity to the wind.
QUICK RECAP: A bachelor hopeful kissed and told for the first time in the 10 season run of the show. After being rejected, Nick Viall revealed before the television viewing audience that he had sex with Andi Dorfmann (who got engaged to Josh Murray), asking "why did we make love. . .that's fiance type of stuff?" She said she did not consider that (meaning a one night stand) "fiance type of stuff." She said the fact that he revealed their intimate dealings was "below the belt." She later tweeted that she considers roasting chicken fiance type stuff.
She's RIGHT! Making love is not fiance type of stuff. It's MARRIED COUPLE type of stuff!! But to refer to cooking for a man as "woman type of stuff" shows she is not as liberated as she is projecting.
Women, sex, identity, gender roles in relationships. . . here are so many areas she likely has misunderstood to cover in this one topic, but I wanna know why there is a double standard? If a woman opened up and admitted she was hurt because she shared herself with someone she thought she had a connection with and the guy who said he felt the same way did not choose her, everyone would agree the guy was a jerk who only used her. Maybe Andi was sampling the milk before she purchased the cow and using Nick, which would be just as foul. Billy Bush of Access Hollywood said Nick went too far and Andi has gained lots of empathizers on the Web who apparently agree.
Her supporters may think differently if this very same thing happened in reality.
Hypothetically speaking, if Andi and Josh were married her romp with Nick would have been considered infidelity. This bombshell announcement may impede on them making it to the altar. Reportedly, instead of them focusing on their future Josh is controlling and keeping a close on Andi. Who wouldn't enter a relationship like this with some insecurity whether they are male or female? In this day and time casual sex is normalized to the point that it isn't the fact that they had sex that is bothersome. It's the fact that Andi accepted someone else's proposal and could have been intimate with another guy during the same time frame.
