At
the age of 16 years old, Michel’le started
writing and recording songs with Dr. Dre and Eazy E on the iconic rap
label, Ruthless Records. Once one of the biggest R&B singers in
the country, she garnered #1 hits, platinum certified albums, and sold
out
shows, but at the height of her success she battled depression,
addiction, and
domestic abuse. Now she reaches out to
teenage girls to share her story and hopefully empower them to fight for
their
futures and realize the importance of recognizing their self-worth.
Michel’le became involved with Saving Our
Cinderellas’ in 2015 because of her passion for music and young people. She hopes to help the group of youngsters embrace
their dreams of pursuing careers in entertainment. The program is a part of Saving our
Daughters, a non-profit organization which focuses on reaching thousands of
teen girls and youth across the country and helping them to create the tools
needed to address key issues facing young people today. They are taught to take the power away from
bullying, (cyber, gossip, face-to-face), date abuse, hate crimes, school
violence, violence against women, and other esteem slayers.
