ANSWERED PRAYERS: Lamar Odom wakes up and is responsive and reunites with Khloe

Former NBA baller and reality TV star Lamar Odom was allegedly brain dead and fighting for his life in a Nevada hospital since last Tuesday. People all over the Internet expressed they were praying for the basketball pro to pull through using the hashtag "prayersforlamar." Off the ventilator and breathing on his own, he is now showing signs of improvement. On Friday, E! News reported he opened his eyes and spoke for the first time in three days.
"Hey Baby," he said to Khloe Kardashian, his estranged wife, responding with a thumbs up when she said "I love you." Sources say Kardashian has not left his bedside since arriving.
Odom, was found unconscious in the VIP suite of a Nevada brothel. Doctors called his condition a drug overdose after discovering the ex-LA Laker had a stroke and was brain dead from consuming a "cocktail" of sex performance enhancers, opiates and cocaine. Opiates slow down the heart and are sometimes used in pain killers, doctors say. The 911 tape revealed that a pink colored fluid was coming out of Odom's mouth which some doctors say could signal trauma to the nose or internal bleeding.
This may not be an isolated case, but instead a case of the affects of long-term drug and alcohol use taking a toll overtime. It was allegedly drug abuse that caused the separation between Lamar, 35 and Khloe, 31 in 2013. That year, Lamar had gone missing and it was later confirmed he left his wife. Khloe intervened and tried to reconcile unsuccessfully. They eventually filed for divorce and appeared to be on amicable terms in a recent episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" when Lamar called to inform her of the death of the best man in their wedding, Jamie Sangouthai. Did Khloe see this coming? Khloe stated that the devastation of the death of his best friend over the summer, who he'd known since the age of 12, could take Lamar into a downward spiral.
Guillermo Castillo, Sangouthai's father said those around Odom could see the signs drugs were taking over his life.
He says he thinks Odom was pacifying grief to cope with his friend's death and wanted to die too.Jamie died in Los Angeles from a flesh-eating bacteria, necrotizing fasciitis, that is associated with heroin use.
The brothel owner is apparently attempting to profit from Odom's pain. He appeared on
Odom's two children he has with his ex-girlfriend flew in with their mother from New York. They too are asking for prayer and privacy.
In initial reports doctors said Odom will not be able to lead a normal life.
UPDATE: Odom has not fully recovered but attended Kanye West's fashion show during NYFW and received applause. This is a blessed turn around for someone who was in a coma months earlier. He still has trouble walking and with his speech and is undergoing recovery therapy at home and at a treatment facility.

During a phone interview with the New York Daily News Castillo said, “I think Lamar is done. I think most of it is because he missed my son so much,” Castillo told the New York Daily News on Thursday, which was reported on October 16. “I think deep inside they had a death wish, or a wish to die together. It sounds very cold-blooded, but I have a hard time controlling my emotions. They were so close. They went through a lot together — very powerful and beautiful times together.”
Ironically during the short-lived "Khloe & Lamar" reality show, Lamar attempted to help his friend get clean from drugs.Because their divorce is not yet finalized, Khloe still has legal authority over Odom's medical affairs. She has already sprung into action ob behalf of her ailing ex to quell media speculation. In particular, Kardashian camp issued a statement to keep the brothel owner quiet.
