During times of turmoil society turns to religious leadership for guidance.  Archbishop Alfred C. Owens, International Prelate of the Greater Mt. Calvary Church has responded to the recent rash of police involved shootings in a letter the organizations body of members. "As the church, prayer should not be a replacement for action," Owens said. He urged his followers to seek social justice without resorting to retaliation.

By Mona Austin Much of what the average American knows about Frederick Douglass lies in the pages of "The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave."  His memory has lived on through the annals of history as a heroic abolitionist.
