Merry Christmas from the President and First Lady Obama

buzzz worthy. . .

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today the Obamas join their fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the birth of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  They reflect on the past 8 years in the White House at Christmas time, enourage Christ's  "eternal message, one of boundless love, compassion and hope and invite the nation to focus ona future of shared values in their final Christmas address.  They also addressed some of the progress the Obama Administration has madee and recognized trrops and military families.   They encouraged everyone to visit JoiningForces.gov to find out how to support service members, veterans, and military families in your community. As  President Obama refers to FLOTUS as his "best friend" the vidoe also becomes and endearing portrait of their joint service to the nation.  The address starts with a funny flash back to their first Christmas in office.  Take a look at the video which was released on Christmas Eve.

The Obama received backlash form the Consrvatives an the religious right for sending out their final  holiday card that did notexplicitly state Merry Christmas, saying the omission downplays the Christian nature of the holiday.  The direct references to their faith and saying "Merrry Christmas" in the final Christmas video should clear the air about the First family's religious beliefs.
