VIDEO: Robert Pearson remakes Stevie Wonders Love's In Need of Love Today

Within one week Americans have experienced the Secret Service intercepting a domestic terrorist plot targeting well-known Democrats,  the murder of two Black people at a grocery store and 11 people  shot down at a Jewish synagogue. A DC-based artist has re-made Stevie Wonder's Love's In Need of Love Today.  The lyrics fit the current social climate in America.

Robert Person has placed his silky vocal touch on Stevie Wonder's "Love's in Need of Love Today" as history appears to be repeating itself.

Over 40 years ago in 1976 when Wonder released the original version on his seminal recording "Songs In the Key of Life," times were not much different from today.  The nation was embroiled in political scandal as Jimmy Carter, a peanut farmer from Georgia unseated Gerald Ford who ha become President after Richard Nixon became the first president to resign over the  Watergate scandal. There was spiritual and moral decline then as there is now. The message of the song is  a timely remedy to the rising hate and political controversy in America today.

“Love’s In Need Of Love Today” appears on Person's Classic Covers. Arranged by Robert’s friend and Music Director Allyn Johnson, “Loves In Need Of Love Today” is his new Jazz Radio single being played on Jazz radio stations such as WMSE – Milwakee, WI; WBAA – Lafayette, IN; WRIR – Richmond, VA; WCLK- Atlanta, GA, KEWU Spokane, WA; WOOC Albany/Troy, NY; WCSF- Joliet, IL; WRTI – Philadelphia, PA; WPKN – Bridgeport, CT with more stations adding daily.
Along with the radio single, Robert has released the official music video for “Love’s In Need Of Love Today”. In the video he subtly pays homage to Wonder's fashion sense, wearing African attire, yet vocally Person's carries an easy listening style of his own.  The string quartet enhances the arrangement with a beautiful introduction and classical touch that distinguishes the remake from the original.
The nation's heart is aching today.  Listen to Love's In Need of Love for encouragement.
