A BAD IDEA EXPLAINED: Trump shares why he cancelled peace talk with Taliban at Camp David,

Just about any American you could ask about the president meeting terrorists on American soil would think it is a bad idea. Some would say meeting with an enemy  anywhere, at anytime is out of the question.  Pres. Donald Trump tweeted he was to have secret peace talk with the Taliban at Camp David over the weekend just days before September 11. "To bring Taliban leaders ... to Camp David, not that far from New York City, a couple days prior to 9/11, I don't know how that went through the good idea filter and made it as far as it did,” Kinzinger told CNN Tuesday.

On Monday Pres. Trump said talks with the Taliban are "dead.

"cancelled it after the Taliban took credit for a  car bombing.  Trump suspected that if he had the meeting at the White House, which he decided to cancel, that there would be even more criticism.  On Monday he explained that he cancelled the meeting due to the killing of and Americans soldier, ruling out any assumptions that he bowed to the pressure of being criticized for having it.

"The only reason I cancelled that meeting is that they killed one of our soldiers.  They killed a total of 12 people trying to build up their importance," Pres. Trump said.

Confident in his negotiation skills, Pres. Trump behaves as if he can meet with leaders that have had decades long conflicts with the U.S. and forge meaningful agreements.   In 2017 the U.S. and North Korea entered peace talks to denuclearize the area but they continued missle testing, proving to be ineffective.
