Pres. of Puraguay visits White House

Pres, Trump met with the Pres. of Puraguay on Dec. 13, 2019.

Ivanka Trump met President Abdo Benítez in Asunción on September 6th of this year as part of her South American tour. The last visit by a Paraguayan President to the White House was on October 27th 2008 when Fernando Lugo met President George W. Bush.

According to Paraguayan media President Abdo arrived in the US on Wednesday and is not expected back in Paraguay until Monday. Abdo’s trip to the US comes one day after the US State Department sanctioned two former Paraguayan officials for corruption accusations.  (Source: Pool Report).
