TV ONE celebrates the 45th anniversary of "The Jeffersons" with 2-day marathon

Tune In to TV One For A 48-Hour Marathon Beginning January 18 To Take A Nostalgic Look Back At The Pioneering Sitcom

SILVER SPRING, MD - January 17, 2020 - TV One commemorates the 45th Anniversary of the trailblazing sitcom THE JEFFERSONS with a milestone marathon. Starting on Saturday, January 18 at 6 a.m. ET and running through Monday, January 20, ending at 6 a.m. ET, The Jeffersons marathon will showcase 96 fan-favorite episodes from the series debut to the finale.

"The huge success of last year's live reboot of The Jeffersons is a strong testament of just how beloved the series is and that it remains relevant in today's pop culture, said Dexter Cole, TV One's SVP, Scheduling & Acquisitions.  "We are proud to pay homage to the longest-running African-American sitcom for its cultural, comedic and historic contributions that made a dramatic shift in television sitcoms."
TV One viewers can rediscover the humor, love and tradition of family values by celebrating the anniversary with George and Louise Jefferson, Lionel Jefferson, Helen Willis and more!

The celebration will continue off-air on social media (@TVOne) where viewers can enjoy fun facts about the series and join the conversation using the hashtag  #THEJEFFERSONS.

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed. Also in 2024, a woman filed a protection order against Green in Houston County in which she believed him to be a danger," but did not confirm Mrs. Massey as the suspect.    Various reports indicate the couple's children were present when he was shot in the head.   In one instance, a woman who shared children with Green alleged that he repeatedly struck her , including once when she was pregnant.
