"HE KNEW": BOOK AND AUDIO REVEAL TRUMP CONCEALED THE CORONAVIRUS THREAT EARLY ON
(The Slice): Audio tapes reveal Pres. Trump understood the danger of the Coronavirus being an air born disease in early on and he downplayed it to the public to avoid creating a panic, he said.
This knowlege is detailed in veteran Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward's newly relased book, RAGE. The book will be rleased on September 15, while audio cips have already come out exposing the president's thoguhts on several subjects as well as how individuals in the upper orbit of the administration felt about him.
"I always wanted to play it down," said Trump in the interview. "You just breath the air and that's how it is passed," the president explained, showing he fully realized the severity of the potential spread.
By Woodward's account, Trump learned about the outbreak in early January from his national Security Advisor Robert O'Brien.
Withholding the truth was misleading to the public who he assured would not have to deal with the deadly virus for long. as the number of cases continued to climb. COVID-19 would miraculously disappear he said at one point and called it a hoax, leaving Americans to figure out how to fend off the unfamilar health attack. The deception fed not only the highest Coronavirus mortality rate in the world, but also placed undue stress on first responders and damaged the economy and educational systems needlessly.
Columbia University did a study that found if Trump had responded a week earlier over 36,000 lives would have been saved.
Press Secretary Kayleigh McKennany defended the POTUS to reporters Wednesday afternoon saying his focus on keeping the nation calm is what strong leaders do.and he has "never lied" to the American people.
Many people judge the revelation that Trump deliberately beguiled the nation about a major public health crisis as morally negligent and reflective of incompotent leadership.
His presodential opponent Joe Biden is taking advantage of the shortfall. Said Biden while on the campaign trail, "He lied to the American people. He knowingly lied for months. It was a life and death betrayal of the American people." Biden, speaking in Michigan to auto wokes, condemend him o sending the nation into an economic tailspin.
Today at the White House, the "roof was on fire" with this news being stacked on top of his insults ro vetrans. However, none of the other "tell-all" books have been consequential. Will Bob Woodward's book be a game changer in terms of Republican voters holding Trump accountable for risking American lives or will they forgive him once again?
Bob Woodward will appear on 60 Minutes in his first interview about the revelations in his new book about President Donald Trump, "Rage" featuring audio excerpts from Woodward's nine hours of interviews with President Trump for his new book, "Rage." Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
