Alexi McCammond is next editor in chief of Teen Vogue



Alexi McCammond, a political reporter at Axios reassigned from covering President Biden’s campaign in November after disclosing her relationship with TJ Ducklo, will be the next editor in chief of Teen Vogue, Cond&ecute; Nast announced Friday. (NYT)

At Axios, she covered Joe Biden’s successful 2020 presidential campaign and then transitioned into covering progressive politics. (TheWrap)

McCammond will be responsible for the magazine’s editorial vision across its digital, video, and social platforms, according to a statement from Cond&ecute; Nast. Teen Vogue, which stopped issuing its print edition in late 2017, shifted toward more political coverage during the Trump years. (Mediaite)

McCammond, who was tapped as a 2019 “Emerging Journalist of the Year” by the National Association of Black Journalists, replaces Lindsay Wagner Peoples, who ran the teen mag since November 2017 before being tapped in January to run New York Magazine’s fashion vertical, The Cut. (New York Post)

McCammond joined Axios in 2017. She ho was reassigned from covering President Biden’s campaign in November after disclosing her relationship with TJ Ducklo, a spokesperson for the campaign who later became deputy White House press secretary.
