 WHY YOU NEED TO GET YOUR CORONAVIRUS BOOSTER SHOT

No one likes the idea of getting yet another shot, but the fact is without it your immunity levels with the full dose alone may not be strong enough to combat variants.
Dr. Anthony Fauci talked about the importance of getting the second dose of the vaccine and the difference in effective rates from one to two shots in people with various pre-existing conditions. Cancer and AIDS patients for instance who a great difference in building resistance to getting COVID-19 after receiving the second dose. To ensure everyone is fully vaccinated he recommends scheduling the follow-up appointment on-site after the first dose. The team is also partnering with doctors officers to get more shots done and build vaccine confidence. They also empahaszed the importance of getting the booster. For Moderna, the booster can be scheduled starting at 28 days after the second shot. Pfizer's booster shot ican be administered starting 21 days after the first shot. You should get your booster shot as close to the recommended time as possible.
As of today the US has hit the milestone of 100 million adult Americans being fully vaccinated by either the the 2-shot regimen of the J&J one-shot. The next phase in battling the Coronavirus is focused on making it even easier to get vaccinated and ensuring equity for all Americans They are working on setting up walk up sites for people who do not have appointments as a an additional mitigation strategy in this next phase.
