Bernice King corrects AZ governor candidate for misrepresenting her father's legacy

Kari Lake, the Arizona Republican seeking to governorsihp, was gently corrected by Bernice King on Wednesday after she claimed Martin Luther King Jr. would be a MAGA Republican if he was alive today. Lake is a fomer reporter and 2020 presidetia election denyer said both MLK and JFK (Pres. John Fitzgerald Kennedy) would be America first Reupbicans (which is code for MAGA.)

“I’m a true believer that if MLK, Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. were alive today, if JFK were alive today, if our founding fathers were alive today, they would be America First Republicans,” Lake said. “I really believe that.”

At the time she was speaking at an event alongside Tulsi Gabbard, a former presidetia candidate who recently defected from the Democratic party.

Ms. King, wo oes by the Twitter handle "Be A King" re[lied direct;y to the poitician, instructing her to learn more about her father's legacy:
Dear @KariLake:

What you share here is false and dismissive of Daddy’s seminal work and beliefs, including:

•Ending/preventing voter suppression
•Treating all, including immigrants, with dignity

I invite you to study my father via
