HARRIS PRESENTS HER VP PICK IN PHILADELPHIA

By Mona Austin
Vice Pres. Kamala Harris and the man she chose the be her running mate, Minnesotta Governor Tim Walz entered the arena to uproarious applause on Tuesday in Philadelphia. In a historic first, a woman introduced a man to be her partner in leadership for the United States.
Harris painted a portrait of a man who has served well in many traditional male leadership roles - military NCO, football coach and Governor. Walz was presented as a likeable, battle-tested "all-American" with a Midwestern temperament.
Politically, he is liberal but is also appealing to a cross section of the country due to his career experience and relatable image.
Although they are from opposite corners of the country she said they share the same values.
The Vice president also spoke of the common ground Americans share and sought to spread unity across the country.
Harris-Walz 2024 spokesperson James Singer issued the following statement:
“Yesterday, Vice President Harris and Governor Walz offered America a brighter future united around joy and love of country. The Harris-Walz campaign is focused on building a stronger middle class, fighting for our freedoms, and protecting our rights.
“On Fox News this morning, criminal Donald Trump rambled, lied, and offered America nothing but chaos, hate and anger – the polar opposite of what we saw in Philadelphia last night. We aren’t surprised Trump wouldn’t show his face, he’s ashamed of his dangerous Project 2025 agenda, is afraid to debate, and has no positive vision to present to the American people.”
Quotes Harris' remarks follow...
“And we see in our fellow Americans neighbors, never enemies.
“My promise to you is this: our campaign will reach out to everyone.
...From red states to blue states...From the heartland to the coasts.
“We are running a campaign on behalf of All Americans.
“And if elected, we will govern on behalf of all Americans.”
