Maverick City Music is losing two key members at the same time. Vocal lead Naomi Raine announced her departure on social media on the same day as musician and singer Chandler Moore. Moore is also suing the group's manager Norman Gyamfi.
There were signs of fractures in the group for months.
Here is a breakdown of the fall out:
Moore filed a lawsuit against Norman Gyamfi, alleging millions in stolen royalties and forged documents.
Gyamfi is co-founder of Maverick City and TRIBL Records, and was Moore’s manager from 2020–2023.
Other entities named in the suit include Insignia Holding Co., TRIBL Records, and Maverick City Music.
Gyamfi recently drew backlash for calling gospel music “stale” on the Isaac Carree Show.
Maverick City Music was founded in 2018 and has won five Grammy Awards.
The group is known for hits like “Jireh,” “Promises,” and “Man of Your Word.”
