White House Renovations Ower the Years

Pres. Donald Trump has thought the White House could use a "facelift" since his first term.  He complained that it was not as luxurious as his Trump Tower residence in New York City. In his second term he is leading a massive White House improvemwnt effort that began with enhancements in the Oval Office and has extended to expabdibf the People's House with a massive ballroom. Over the years other preaidents have added their toich to tge residence but none as transformative as this. Despite the fact that other U.S. there has been some bad press abiut the changes being made under the Trump Administration.  From the West Wing, built on 1992 by Theodore Roosevelt to the In response to ceitixism  the White House Press Office released a list of presidents and the structural  changes they made over the last century.  It read: 

"In the latest instance of manufactured outrage, unhinged leftists and their Fake News allies are clutching their pearls over President Donald J. Trump’s visionary addition of a grand, privately funded ballroom to the White House — a bold, necessary addition that echoes the storied history of improvements and renovations from commanders-in-chief to keep the executive residence as a beacon of American excellence."

Tbis week when demolition on the property began to lay the groundwork for the gigantic ballroom, a crowd of spectators watched outaide of the White  House near the Treasury Department for hours.  The taht was being wiped away is where vistors wntered for Whjte Hkuse Christmas paeties and tours. It is located on th3 East Wing of the reaidence where a 90,000 sq. ft. ballroom that will cost $250 million to renovate.

The primary complainta about the beautification project are the enourmous size of the grand ballroom and the lack of transparency.  Pres. Trump said there would be minimal changes to the East wing.  The White House was "hush, hush" about whi was invited to the donor dinner where Trumo solicited dination for the massive upgrade. Additionally, some commentors online complained that it is  tone deaf to undertake the renovation while the government is shutdown and Americans are strugglung. Others are concerned that the heritage of   the building won't be preserved.
