A child’s birthday party in Stockton, California turned deadly when gunfire broke out at a local banquet hall Saturday evening. Four people were killed and ten others injured, according to police.
Officers responded to Lucile Avenue just before 6 p.m. local time. San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas confirmed that children are among the victims.
The shooter fled the scene and remains at large, as authorities continue searching for the suspect and interviewing witnesses.
The community is shaken as investigators work to determine what sparked the tragic attack.
