Eddie Longs Wife's Divorce Filing Sticks--She Still Wants to Call It Quits
Friday morning Vanessa Long, the wife of Bishop Eddie Long announced in a statement that she was filing for a divorce. Hours later she recanted the filing in another statement released by New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. She blamed that filing on years of attack from the media. Making matters more confusing and curious, in yet another statement, Mrs. Longs attorneys said her original statement still stands. The Longs have been legally separated the most recent statement indicated and according to a 12-page divorce petition Mrs. Long "is entitled to a divorce upon grounds that the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken, there being no hope of reconciliation of the parties, and it being in the best interest of all parties concerned that this marriage be terminated by divorce."
