Families grieve losses from Boston bombing, FBI seeks clues

buzzz worthy. . .
Martin Richard, 8, was killed instantly from the impact from a bombing blast at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.

Stories are coming in that put a face on the tragic event in Boston yesterday. We are learning that the  senseless bombing has shattered entire families.

The Boston Globe has identified Martin Richard, 8,  as the youngest casualty among three fatalities.  He was killed just after giving his father, Bill Richard, a congratulatory hug as he approached the Boston Marathon finish line. As the third grader's memory freshly reverberates in the father's head, he must contend with a 6-year-old daughter who lost her leg in the blast and his wife who suffered a brain injury.

In another family, sadly two brothers who attended the race to root on a friend both were taken to  emergency rooms with traumatic leg wounds.

Some families are still looking for their loved ones who participated in the race, while  as many as 175 victims are being treated for their injuries at 6 local hospitals.  Gruesome photos indicate many lost limbs and are critically wounded.

In a press briefing was held today to give the status of the investigation.   Gov. Duval Patrick said the area will continue to be protected in force.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) said they did not have to call President Obama, he called them. "Make no mistake," the President said yesterday, "we will get to the bottom of this."

The FBI has taken the lead in the investigation. No suspects have been identified. Two search warrants were issued and two men are in custody for questioning related to the incident.

The public is encouraged to contact the police with photos or video from the scene or other leads.  Law enforcement agents are seeking any videos that was shot in the immediate vicinity, not only footage from the scene.
