Juanita Bynum responds to arrest and files suit against former management company

As widely reported, Prophetess Juanita Bynum was arrested on April 18 in Dallas, TX. Bynum allegedly was arrested on a bench warrant for missing a scheduled court date pertaining to a civil law suit from Al Wash Entertainment (ALW Entertainement).  ALWclaimed Bynum kept money for a performance in a play they were promoting that was cancelled.  The 54-year-old evangelist has since issued a statement saying she was wrongfully arrested.  She says the matters between her and Wash has been resolved and he even sent her a letter of apology following the arrest.

[There was] a 2007 judgment ordering her to pay $140,000 to ALW Entertainment.  The statement indicates she paid $25,000 to ALW, but she adn the promoter could not agree on who was responsible for the total  debt stemming from a cancelled  play.

Now, Bynum is suing Holly Carter, the owner of Releve Entertainment, the entertainment and production company that represented her at the time.  She is the former manager of Powerhouse duo Mary Mary and has been seen recently in The Sheards reality show as Kierra Sheard's manager.

In a Christian Post article, Carter called Bynum's accusations baseless.   "I am deeply saddened by Ms. Bynum's baseless accusations, which are not only false but also slanderous. I will continue to keep her in prayer," said Carter.
