Loretta Lynch was sworn n as U.S. Attorney General on April 27, 2014.


 The Honororable Loretta Lynch, 55, was sworn in as the first African American woman to hold the position of U.S. Attorney General today in a ceremony at the Justice Department. Vice President Joe Biden was administered the oath of office. Lynch's predecessor, Eric Holder held the position for six years. Lynch has experience as a prosecutor and a former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
