FIRST IN LINE: Recalling Shirley Chisholm's legacy on the cusp of history

Long before Hillary Clinton seized the democratic nomination, an African American woman named Shirley Chisholm was the first woman to run for president on a major party ticket. Her campaign slogan was "Unbought and unbossed." The firt Black woman in Congress, Chisholm was also a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus.  An unrelenting freedom fighter, Chisholm was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom post-homulously. While Clinton is in a position to posssily become the first female POTUS, it is important to note that Chisholm paved the way.
