FIRST IN LINE: Recalling Shirley Chisholm's legacy on the cusp of history
buzzz worthy. . . Long before Hillary Clinton seized the democratic nomination, an African American woman named Shirley Chisholm was the first woman to run for president on a major party ticket. Her campaign slogan was "Unbought and unbossed." The firt Black woman in Congress, Chisholm was also a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus. An unrelenting freedom fighter, Chisholm was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom post-homulously. While Clinton is in a position to posssily become the first female POTUS, it is important to note that Chisholm paved the way.
