The first women to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will be honored in a funeral service at the National Cathedral today. pres. Joe Biden will deliver the eulogy along with Chief Justice john Roberts. O'Connor died recently of complications with Dimentia at the age of 93. Her body lay in repose at the Great Hall at the Supreme Court where a special ceremony was held yesterday. Justice Sonia Sotomayor delivered a tribute as one of the nine member of the High Court who were in attendance. She especially noted the sisterhood of women justices there. She said the late Justice 'never lost sight of how the law affected ordinary people." Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff were among those who visited the court to pay their respect. The legacy of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor includes O'Connor landmark opinions upholding access to abortion, affirmative action and protecting the First Amendment.
