America's system of government stands in need of atonement for current and past acts of corruption. For this I pray out of concern for the nation and my fellow man and in obedience to the Holy Spirit. . . Father God, Lord of Heaven and Earth: I pray that the church in America rises up like the river of Jordan to purge, purify and renew our land. In these morally corrupt, spiritually beleaguered, politically tumultuous times the United States of America stands in desperate need of atonement. Father, America needs you to cleanse her blood-stained hands. Place a mirror before the sins she has committed as a country throughout history, both domestically and abroad so that she may regurgitate them once and for all. You, Father God, know them all.
